A New Way to Train Starts This Fall

At Pittsburgh Fitness Project, we are always looking for ways to provide better coaching, more personalized experiences, and more options for our members to achieve their goals. This fall, we are excited to introduce one of the biggest additions to our training model yet: Semi-Private Training.

Before we officially launch this program, we will be inviting a select group of current and former PFP members to participate in our Semi-Private Training Beta Test Group. This pilot phase will allow us to gather feedback, refine the experience, and make sure we are delivering the highest-quality coaching possible.

What Is Semi-Private Training?

Semi-Private Training combines the best parts of personal training and small group training. Instead of following a general class workout, each member receives an individualized training plan based on their goals, abilities, and experience. You will train alongside a small group of 2–4 people while receiving coaching and guidance from a PFP trainer throughout your session.

This creates a unique training environment where you get:

  • Personalized programming

  • Expert coaching

  • Individual attention

  • The motivation of a small group

  • More flexibility than traditional one-on-one training

Every person in the session may have a different workout, different goals, and different exercises—but everyone benefits from the energy and accountability of training together.

Why Are We Introducing Semi-Private Training?

Over the years, we have seen that many members want the benefits of personal training but are looking for a more flexible and affordable option. One-on-one personal training provides the highest level of individual attention, but it is not always the right fit for every person’s schedule or budget.

Semi-Private Training creates another option. It allows members to receive individualized coaching while sharing the session experience with others. You still have a coach guiding your training, making adjustments, answering questions, and helping you progress—but you also get the community and motivation that makes PFP special.

A More Personalized Alternative to Group Training

Group fitness classes are an important part of PFP. They provide community, energy, and a great workout experience. However, some members need a different level of personalization.

Semi-Private Training is designed for people who want:

  • A structured training plan

  • More coaching than a traditional class

  • Progress tracking and accountability

  • A program built around their goals

  • Guidance with technique and exercise selection

It is the bridge between group training and personal training.

The Semi-Private Beta Test Group

Before making Semi-Private Training available to everyone, we want to make sure we build it the right way. This fall, we will invite a limited number of current and former PFP members to participate in our Beta Test Group.

The purpose of this beta group is to:

  • Test the training format

  • Gather member feedback

  • Improve scheduling and structure

  • Refine the coaching experience

  • Create the best possible program before a full launch

Beta participants will play an important role in helping shape the future of Semi-Private Training at PFP.

Who Is a Good Fit for Semi-Private Training?

Semi-Private Training may be a great option for you if you:

  • Want more personalized coaching than group classes provide

  • Enjoy training with others but need an individualized plan

  • Have specific strength, fitness, or performance goals

  • Want accountability and structure

  • Are looking for a more affordable personal training option

It can be a great fit for beginners who want extra guidance, experienced members looking for structured programming, or anyone who wants to take their training to the next level.

How Semi-Private Training Fits Into the Future of PFP

This launch represents another step in our continued evolution as a coaching-focused fitness facility. Our goal has always been to meet members where they are and provide the right solution for their goals. Some members thrive in group classes. Some prefer one-on-one coaching. Others will benefit most from the personalized approach of Semi-Private Training. By expanding our options, we can better serve more people and create more opportunities for long-term success.

How to Join the Beta Test Group

Current members and select former members will have the first opportunity to participate in the Semi-Private Training Beta Test Group this fall. If you are interested, speak with your coach during your September Fitness Assessment or contact the PFP team to learn more. Space will be limited, and we want to keep the beta group small enough to provide the attention and feedback needed to make the program successful. We are excited to build this next chapter of coaching at Pittsburgh Fitness Project—and we want our community to be part of the process.

More coaching. More personalization. More ways to reach your goals. Semi-Private Training is coming this fall to PFP.
