PHYSICAL THERAPY

PFP HAS PHYSICAL THERAPY?

Yes! And just like everything else we do, we start with an Initial Evaluation. This is an in-depth conversation about your current function and relevant medical history, comprehensive objective testing and measurements to define your baseline of current function, and collaborative goal setting. This visit may also include hands-on treatment and exercise as needed. A referral from your doctor is not required for an initial evaluation.

  • Treatment sessions may include exercise coaching and progression, hands-on treatment, reassessment, and modalities as needed (including but not limited to dry needling). Prior physical therapy evaluation is required.

  • Sports Recovery sessions include a brief assessment of ongoing issues and goals of the treatment session and focus on hands-on treatment and use of modalities such as dry needling, electrical stimulation, joint mobilization, myofascial release and cupping. The goal of sports recovery sessions is to improve recovery and boost performance, helping you to feel your best.

  • Have you ever felt stuck in your training program when experiencing pain or injury? Maybe unable to hit prescribed percentages or WODs without significant modification? Rehab programming is perfect for those who want to continue lifting while experiencing pain or injury. It is a comprehensive approach following the initial PT assessment that includes month-by-month programming blocks in the style of Olympic weightlifting or powerlifting to help get you from step 1 to back to training without modifications. Each month includes weekly check ins and program modifications week-by-week based on symptoms and progress. I’ve helped many athletes go from being unable to lift without significant pain get back to competing and hitting PRs with this type of dynamic programming. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, please reach out about booking an Initial Assessment!

    Requirements:
    - Prior Physical Therapy Initial Assessment
    - Initial month: $250
    - Subsequent months: $150

  • Diana Jordan (she/her) is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) who specializes in treating orthopedic injuries and pelvic health. She is a Pittsburgh native and earned her DPT from the University of Pittsburgh where she was able to gain valuable experience in traditional practice settings.  Upon graduation she started her own non-insurance based physical therapy practice, Strive Physical Therapy, out of Pittsburgh Fitness Project. She now works for PFP as both a physical therapist and weightlifting coach, combining her skills to bridge the gap between rehab and training. Her mission is to provide high quality, value-based care with a focus on movement-optimism for clients of all genders.

Diana is passionate about helping individuals stay active, especially when managing injuries or nagging pain. She excels at treating a variety of orthopedic concerns, from sprains and strains, pre- or post-operative conditions, and chronic issues. She has over 10 years of competing in powerlifting and weightlifting as well as her USAW L1 and multiple years of weightlifting coaching. She uses this expertise to bridge the transition from rehab to training and competing.

She is also devoted to improving the accessibility of pelvic health physical therapy for all genders. Her expertise and passion are helping athletes reduce pelvic symptoms, including incontinence, when training. Within the scope of pelvic floor PT, she treats conditions such as urinary incontinence including athletic incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse,  pre- and post-op conditions (including hysterectomy/prostatectomy and gender affirming surgeries), labor and delivery preparation, and postpartum care / return to exercise. Over the past 2 years she has spoken at several conferences on the impact of exercise on both perinatal and menopausal health.

FAQS

  • •  Physical Therapy: All Physical Therapy starts with an Initial Evaluation which includes comprehensive examination based on your individual needs. Treatment sessions may be booked after the Evaluation.

    •  Sports Recovery: Sports Recovery sessions may be booked without a PT Evaluation and focus on hands-on treatment and use of modalities to improve recovery and boost performance.

  • PFP Physical Therapy is an out-of-pocket PT practice. Traditional PT clinics are overwhelmed with patients, making it difficult to get one-on-one time and meaningful care from your therapist. By not accepting insurance, we can guarantee you full one-on-one sessions to ensure your problems are fully evaluated and treated with the highest quality of care. Sessions are HSA/FSA eligible, and you will be provided with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • You do not need a referral from your doctor to receive physical therapy at Pittsburgh Fitness Project. We can and will communicate with your physician to ensure best practice and optimize your care as needed. After 30 days, if further treatment is required, your physician will have to provide a prescription for physical therapy services for you.

  • You can book appointments directly on MindBody. If you’re interested in physical therapy, you must book an Initial Evaluation prior to a treatment session. If you’re interested in a Sports Recovery Session, you can book that without an evaluation prior.
