Youth Sports Performance

 

The Pittsburgh Fitness Project is introducing a brand new set of classes catered to youth athletes, our Youth Sports Performance Program. Participants will develop a base of strength, speed, power, and conditioning while learning the proper mechanics in a safe and effective way.

 

Why do Youth Athletes need Sports Performance training?

Many young athletes only do their sport as their form of exercise. For those who want to take it to the next level, they will need to do some outside work. Strength and conditioning are not always just about lifting weights and running but implementing movements to help prevent injuries and recover from the stress of their sport. Our goal is to help youth athletes perform better at their sport, feel confident on the field, and stay healthy.

 

Monday, Wednesday, Friday Classes

On these days, we will focus the class on building strength.  We will develop the basics and foundational movements needed to build general physical preparedness.

 

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday Classes

On the other days of the week, we will concentrate on speed, endurance, and conditioning.  Youth athletes will learn proper running mechanics, acceleration, and linear and lateral speed. (We will hold some workouts at the Fox Chapel High school track but will notify participants well in advance.)
