Women’s Weightlifting Clinic


Pittsburgh ladies! Do you want to learn weightlifting but are unsure where to start? This Saturday on National “Try Weightlifting Day” we are hosting a FREE women’s weightlifting clinic.


When is it?

Saturday, April 24th from 12-2 PM.

What is it?

We will go over the fundamentals of the two Olympic-style lifts – the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. The Snatch is a single-movement lift from floor to overhead, and the Clean and Jerk is a two-movement lift from floor to shoulder to overhead.

Who is it for?

Anyone! We want to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for women who want to try out the sport.

Even if you have never picked up a barbell before, this clinic is for you. In fact, many of our members had no weightlifting experience prior to joining our club!


What should I expect?

Our female coaches will go over key foundations, break down each movement and instruct the group in various technique drills. Then, each participant will have the chance to get their hands on a barbell and practice the lifts for themselves. You’ll get plenty of personalized attention, as we will have several coaches and athletes around to provide feedback.

What if I can’t make it but I still want to learn?

If you’re unable to attend the clinic but are interested in learning the lifts, you can schedule a free barbell assessment with one of our coaches. Email info@pittsburghfitnessproject.com with any questions.
