Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is a team effort between the client and therapist.  Each session is different because the intent of the massage will vary depending upon what is happening in my client’s life, what they view their needs are and what I observe during the session. Here at the Pittsburgh Fitness Project, we specialize in sports and therapeutic massage.  As a former nurse, I understand well not only the human anatomy but also the human condition and disease processes that can lead to muscular imbalances.

My clients may come to me to help recover from activity or injury, but I also see how the effects of everyday work life impact our bodies.  Sitting at a computer all day can tighten the hips and shoulders, for example, which can then lead to impairments as we try to do other activities or exercise outside of work.

My goal is to help clients address all these issues and more as they bring their needs to me at each session. Massage is a part of the journey to overall wellness. With their permission, I approach clients with empathy, compassion, and intent. This is through open communication before, during, and after the massage.
