Have you heard anyone say recently that they could lose some weight due to their recent months of inactivity? How about referring to their weight gain as the “CV-19” instead of the old “Freshman 15” people used to reference? (Covid-19 is not a laughing matter, but I have heard this phrase believe it or not) Ok, now the most important question: Are you the one that has been saying these things? Do you feel like you need to jump start your fitness today?
It’s no secret that much of the country has transitioned to a work from home situation due to Covid-19. Add the fact that many individuals are choosing to limit their outside of the home activity due to the virus, and some unwanted weight gain occurs. Decreased activity (and more frequent trips to the fridge) will cause that. It happens. However, it’s probably time to start thinking, or better yet, implementing a plan to stop the weight gain and get back to your pre-covid self.
Covid-19 Precautions: Mask-Wearing is a Must
Let me start by making this clear as can be and take a little side road before we proceed. In no way am I going to downplay this virus or try to convince anyone to come to our gym. In my opinion, the virus is absolutely serious, and you should only do what you feel comfortable doing. With that being said, if you choose to make the decision to put a halt to your weight gain, I am here and willing to help you. We even continue to work with clients virtually if that fits their comfort level.
Luckily for us here at the Pittsburgh Fitness Project, we have a great ownership team that has taken every precaution and CDC recommendation within our power to comply with our State’s Regulations. We have also instituted a mandatory mask-wearing policy among other things like sanitinzing all our equipment immediately after use. We wear a mask, you wear a mask, we all wear masks and get through it, plain and simple.
Ok, back to me helping you. I will design a framework to get you back on track and see you through to its fruition. Let’s be real, it’s hard to get back into the swing of things when you’ve been gone for a long time. You might be thinking you’ve let yourself go so far that your old routine won’t work and now you have no clue where to begin. Frustration sets in, you take the 10th trip to the fridge, and you’re right back to your old ways. I get it. It’s tough, and in all honesty, it’s easy to put it off and say you’ll start another day.
