BENEFITS OF SMALL GROUP TRAINING AT PFP

The decision to start training and exercising is often difficult for people. There’s a lot that goes into deciding what you want out of it. Do you know what goals you have? Where would you like to end up? Is there a style of training or exercise that interests me? All of these questions are valid and should be questions you ask yourself before you decide to start. Many times, people may be nervous and apprehensive about starting exercise because they lack some skills or motivation. One way to find your route to regular exercise is through small group training. This style of training at PFP is designed to bring people together in a fun environment that offers an introduction to specific skill training or general strength training. Classes consist of everything from weightlifting and kettlebell training to more specific strength training for sports like swimming and running. Let’s take a closer look at what these classes can do for you.

Low-Stress Learning Environment

Oftentimes, the one thing that keeps people from starting to work out is the stress of being in a new gym with strangers you do not know and struggling to keep up with everyone. This lowers your motivation and makes you not want to show up. Many of our clients joining small group training have little to no experience in the selected class. They are simply eager to learn and have a desire to improve. At PFP our goal is to foster that feeling and help you to improve by any measure. In addition, the knowledge that everyone else is there with the same goal in mind can show you that you are not alone. The ultimate goal is to find something you are passionate about and pursue it at a rate that suits you and your learning style.

More Focused Coaching and Help

Many exercise classes people sign up for are usually large groups, sometimes containing 20 to 30 or more members. While this can be fun and suitable for some, it is very easy to get lost in the mix or feel as though you are being neglected during class. Small group training classes at PFP contain no more than 6 individuals. This is done to give you closer care and attention to detail during class. This not only enhances your ability to learn but allows your coach to learn more about you and the way you would like to be coached.

Scalability

Everyone inevitably learns skills or concepts at different rates. In addition, whenever you sign up for a class, you may have to notify your coach of some issues you may experience or obstacles to learning the skills. All of the coaches at PFP are more than capable of providing you with training and learning that can be scaled to your skill level or physical limitations. Something as simple as spending more time on a skill to make sure you have proficiency in it or needing to scale down an exercise due to a physical limitation. These are perfectly good reasons to scale your training during small groups to ensure you are working towards your goals properly.

Social Interaction & Community Building

One of the foundational qualities at PFP is community building. Our goal as a small and personalized gym is that we want people to not only improve their physical and mental well-being through training but to have a community of people whom they enjoy doing that with. Small groups allow you to meet new people in a stress-free social environment. Small groups can allow you to embark on new skills and challenges to improve yourself and help you have fun while you do it.

We have a number of different small group classes with different focuses and styles of training. Check out all of our small group classes here!
